Servicing: appliances such as fires and boilers – interestingly, not many people are aware that if your boiler is on your household insurance, annual boiler services are often a requirement on the policy.
Servicing entails cleaning various components such as the heat exchanger; if this is particularly dirty more gas will be burned in order to achieve the desired temperature; which means higher fuel bills.
Also many appliances have various safety devices that ensure no gas is flowing to the appliance should the flame go out, or monitor for poor combustion – the prerequisite for the production of carbon monoxide; part of the service is to ensure these are working correctly.
We can repair almost any gas appliance out there! Providing the parts are available of course! Being Gas Safe registered doesn’t qualify you to work on any gas appliance, on the reverse of the Gas Safe card it lists the individual appliances that the engineer is qualified to work on. When you let an engineer into your property always ask to see their Gas Safe card.
